About

Dr. Nguyen is a clinical psychologist trained to use talk therapy, neuropsychological assessment, and therapeutic/collaborative assessment to help children, adolescents, adults, and families overcome personal challenges.  Her clinical work and training has spanned hospital, clinic, and school settings, in both the United States and abroad in Vietnam.  In addition to maintaining a private practice, she is a clinical instructor and supervising psychologist at the National Asian American Psychological Training Center of RAMS Inc. She provides services in English and Vietnamese.

  • Doctorate of Psychology, Multicultural and Community Emphasis, California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University (San Francisco, CA)

  • Predoctoral Internship, National Asian American Psychological Training Center at RAMS, Inc. (San Francisco, CA); trained in multicultural psychodynamic psychotherapy, provided school-based and clinic-based therapy, clients presented with a range of challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and developmental disabilities

  • Postdoctoral Fellowship, RAND Corporation and Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (Nha Trang, Vietnam); trained and supervised paraprofessionals, nurses, and physicians to provide treatment for depression in rural primary care agencies

  • Postdoctoral Fellowship, Alliant International University, Psychological Services Center (Oakland, CA); specialized in treatment and assessment of learning disability, intellectual disability, ADHD, and complex childhood trauma

  • Practitioner Level Training Certificate, Mentalization-Based Treatment, UCLA Semel Institute and Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families

  • Pivotal Response Training Level 1 Certification
